Sunday Mornings

On Sunday mornings, we meet at 9:30 AM to watch a short film from The Work of The People and have a discussion on what we’ve watched. We hear from a variety of theologians that help us understand more deeply the inclusive and all-encompassing love of God and who we are called to be in light of that.
This class is designed to be modular and created to offer flexibility for participants. No registration or preparation is required, just join when you can!
We meet in Room 104 in the Phase 1 Building.

Discover Light of Christ is a 4-week class for newcomers to our church, designed to give participants a deep understanding of what it means to be part of the Light of Christ United Methodist Church community. Through engaging discussions and interactive activities, attendees will explore the church's history, core beliefs, mission, and values, while learning about the various ministries and opportunities available for personal and spiritual growth within the congregation. By the end of the class, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and sense of belonging necessary to actively and meaningfully engage in the life of the Light of Christ UMC.

The Parent Support Fellowship group is a warm and welcoming gathering that brings parents together once a month for an evening of fellowship, support, and a delicious dinner. In this nurturing space, parents can freely share their joys and challenges of raising children, offering each other valuable insights and encouragement. The group provides a much-needed opportunity for parents to connect, relax, and build meaningful relationships, fostering a supportive community that strengthens them in their parenting journey.

The Upper Room Group is a dynamic and inclusive community that meets in person and through Zoom weekly for engaging discussions on various Bible studies. Participants can join either in person or virtually, fostering a welcoming environment for all. Through these meaningful interactions, members grow in their understanding of Scripture, support one another's spiritual growth, and form strong bonds of fellowship that transcend physical boundaries. They are currently using the Bible Project Videos to launch discussions.

After completing the Be the Bridge Group, Bridge Builders is a proactive and compassionate community that convenes monthly to uplift and promote racially diverse businesses in Charlotte. In these gatherings, members engage in meaningful discussions about racial issues within the church and the broader community, focusing on exploring policies and practices that foster inclusivity and equality. Additionally, the group reads insightful books that deepen their understanding of racial dynamics, encouraging personal growth and driving positive change within their spheres of influence.
